Dearborn YMCA to Host Jazzy Blues Fundraiser At Cooper Riverside Park

Mobile nonprofit Dearborn YMCA will host its summer fundraiser, the “Jazzy Blues” concert, at Cooper Riverside Park in Mobile on August 8 at 5-8 p.m. The event will feature live jazz and blues artists, food trucks and a cash bar. Featured performers include Alvin King & the Fifth K’nection Jazz Band, The Outlawz and national recording artist Mr. David aka Pressha. Proceeds will benefit Dearborn YMCA capital improvements and programs. This program is a collaboration with the Divine 9 National African-American Fraternities and Sororities. Dearborn YMCA is one of only three “Heritage YMCAs” left in the U.S., meaning it is located in an African-American neighborhood. The facility impacts more than 2,600 youths and 275 seniors. Its Senior Activities for Independent Living Program is one of the largest programs in Alabama. Tickets may be purchased at Dearborn YMCA (by calling 251-432-4768) or Members of the Divine Nine. Admission is $10.
