Habitat for Humanity’s “Women Build” Scheduled

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Alabama is hosting its annual “Women Build” beginning at 7:45 a.m. on February 6, when a new home build at 511 Maybrick Road East in Mobile will begin. Having run for more than 25 years, the event provides the opportunity for women to learn new skills as they improve their communities. “Women and children make up the majority of people populating Habitat neighborhoods, as they are the most likely to be affected by poor living conditions,” Bailey Smith, outreach coordinator of the Mobile-based nonprofit said, adding that the event helps women “take a proactive step in serving their communities.” For more information, call Sue King at 251-476-7171, ext. 229.
