The Haven Named Top Animal Shelter

FAIRHOPE, Ala. — Nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter The Haven in Fairhope has been selected as the top shelter in the state by MuttNation. The selection came with a $5,000 grant to help provide services like spays and neuters for homeless pets. Co-sponsored by Tractor Supply, the annual awards are made to one exemplary shelter in each state. The Haven, which says it is the first no-kill animal shelter in Baldwin County, focuses on preventing euthanasia of healthy and treatable cats and dogs in area shelters. It has helped more than 10,800 dogs and cats find homes since 2000. It works with like-minded rescue groups and government animal control shelters to end pet homelessness.
