The Lighthouse Receives State Grant

The Lighthouse in Robertsdale was recently awarded a grant from Gov. Kay Ivey to help assist domestic violence victims in Baldwin, Conecuh, Escambia and Monroe counties, Gulf Coast Media reported. The Lighthouse has served victims of domestic violence and their children and adult victims of sexual violence since 1994. It is just one of the three agencies to receive money in this grant. Executive Director Rhyon Ervin said the $300,022 grant is one of the few ways the nonprofit receives funding. It will go toward shelter operations, staffing and maintaining its 24-hour crisis phone lines, one for sexual assault and one for domestic violence.
