Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway Association Appoints President

The Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway Association, a nonprofit representing those interested in navigation of the river system, recently announced the appointment of its new president, W. Wynne Fuller. Fuller is taking the place of Larry Merrihew, who is retiring after having led the association for 14 years. Fuller joins the association following a career in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, where he was chief of the Mobile district operations division for more than 25 years. In this capacity, he managed infrastructure including more than 2,000 mi. of the Black Warrior-Tombigbee Waterway. He was commissioned as an Army engineer officer in 1970 and retired as a colonel after 30 years of service. He holds an MS in national resource strategy from the National Defense University and BSes in civil engineering from the University of South Alabama and in natural s cience from the University of Tennessee. Fuller is also a graduate of the Industrial College of the Armed Forces and the Army’s Command and General Staff College. His accolades include the U.S. Department of Defense’s Distinguished Civilian Service Award, the Superior Civilian Service Award and the Decoration for Exceptional Civilian Service.
