5,400-Ft2 Springhill Avenue Property Sold

Mike Reid of Merrill P. Thomas Co., Inc., represented the buyer, 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile, Inc., in the purchase of the 5,400-ft2 building located at the corner of Springhill Avenue and Pine Street in Mobile. The property was sold by Mobile Area Water and Sewer System, which was represented by Vallas Realty. The building has numerous large offices/meeting rooms, a conference room and ample parking. The idea for the 100 Black Men of America came about in 1963 in New York City and came to Mobile in 1997. Envisioning better days for the community, educators, judges, doctors, lawyers, politicians, administrators, engineers, businessmen, entrepreneurs, religious leaders and other professionals came together to form Alabama’s first chapter of the 100 Black Men of America. “As the men had in 1963 and 1997, the 100 of today has a passion to channel our collective resources to improve the lives of young people and the various communities of Mobile, Alabama, and its surrounding area,” the group’s website says. Juan Peasant with the 100 Black Men of Greater Mobile says that the group will announce its “grand opening” plans for the center in January 2024.
