According to AL.com, South Beach OBA, a $20-million gulf-front residential development, is underway in Orange Beach. The project on Perdido Beach Boulevard, just east of Turquoise, will feature four luxury homes, with two of those currently under construction. The lot sizes are 50 ft of gulf frontage and 1,290 ft deep. The homes are priced at $4.95 million, according to Vicki Lynn of Vicki Lynn Real Estate, the listing agent. Sted McCollough of McCollough Architecture designed the six-bedroom, 7.5-bath homes, each with a private pool. The developers are Mid South Companies. In Mobile, Big A’s Fine Food & Catering has opened in 3,600 ft2 of leased space at 326 Azalea Road, according to Chris Harle of White-Spunner Realty, who represented the landlords. Eric Coleman of RE/MAX Realty Professionals worked for the tenant. Big A’s offers breakfast, lunch and dinner. Also in Mobile, Wattco Electric of Port St. Joe, Florida, has leased 3,000 ft2 of space at 1459 Montlimar Court, according to James Henderson of Realty Executives Bay Group, who represented the tenant. William Youngblood of Youngblood Real Estate worked for the landlord. In Foley, developers are seeking site plan approval for Hyatt Studios, a four-story hotel to be built on 2.38 acres just east of the Foley Beach Express and north of County Road 20 in Foley. In Gulf Shores, watch for Canal Park condominiums to be developed at 419 Canal Drive East and 416 24th Avenue East, according to city planning. The project within the Waterway Village district will feature 10 units. A single-family home on the East Canal site will be demolished.
