Historic VFW Post 49 Property Sold To Corona Auto Sales

Merrill P. Thomas Co., Inc. has announced the sale of the property located at 2528 Government Boulevard in Mobile. Corona Auto Sales LLC bought the property, which had been owned by the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) of Alabama and home to the Robert L. Bullard VFW Post 49. Mike Reid, director of Brokerage at Merrill P. Thomas Co., Inc., represented both the buyer and seller. Chartered on January 5, 1934, VFW Post 49 was one of Alabama’s oldest and most storied posts. At its peak, it was the seventh-largest post in the VFW nationwide, with more than 1,200 members. It was officially retired with a ceremony on June 5, 2024.
