Real Estate Roundup

AL.com’s local real estate roundup reports that a local investor paid $475,000 for 1.24 acres at the southeast corner of McGregor and Springhill avenues in Mobile, according to John Vallas of Vallas Realty. On nearby Moffett Road, Piggly Wiggly has leased the 46,000-ft2 former Winn-Dixie store space in the Town West shopping center to open a store this year, according to Amber Hightower Dedeaux of Vallas, who represented the landlord. Nathan Handmacher of Stirling Properties worked for the supermarket. Also in Mobile, at 2605 Hall Mill Road, an investor paid $150,000 for a 3,610-ft2 building, according to Dedeaux of Vallas, who represented the seller.

In Orange Beach, the report said to watch for a 10,300-ft2 commercial building for a future tire and service center at 24190 Canal Road. On the same road, at 26953, Liberty Linen is seeking planning approval to build a 6,400-ft2 warehouse and 3,600-ft2 enclosed boat and RV storage building. In Gulf Shores, construction is almost complete on Whispering Pines RV Resort on Baldwin County 8; so far, 30 of the 129 lots have been reserved, according to Alla Nikitina of Ryals Realty. Also in the city, developers are seeking a site plan and conditional-use permit to build Phoenix Gulf Shores II, a 24-story, 110-unit condominium tower in the 500 block of East Beach Boulevard, according to the City of Gulf Shores council. The gulf-front project would also include 24 ft of public beach access. The condo amenities feature indoor and outdoor pools, a fitness room, a lazy river and slides. There will be 66 three-bedroom and 44 two-bedroom units.
