According to AL.com, out-of-state investors paid $4.9 million for a 106,208-ft2 retail building at 5425 Highway 90 in the Tillman’s Corner area of Mobile, according to David Dexter and Leigh Rendfrey of CRE Mobile, who handled the transaction. America’s Thrift Store will continue to operate in the 50,854-ft2 of space in the building it has occupied since 2007. The new owners will convert the remaining space into a climate-controlled self-storage facility. Also in Mobile, an out-of-state investor paid $375,000 for the 8,160-ft2 former Family Dollar building at 6510 Zeigler Boulevard, according to Jill Meeks of Stirling Properties. At 4313 Downtowner Loop north in Mobile, BAAF Enterprises paid $264,900 for a 5,000-ft2 office building, according to Nathan Handmacher of Stirling, who represented the seller. Bowen Weir of B4 Properties worked for the buyer. Downtown, Sporty T’s Steakhouse is planned to open at 157 Dauphin Street, according to the Mobile Planning Commission. The sports bar will feature indoor and outdoor seating.In Fairhope, the convenience store and gas station chain WAWA has leased 2 acres at the northeast corner of Highways 181 and 104 in Fairhope and plans to start construction later next year, according to Herrington Realty, who handled the transaction. Also in Fairhope, Live Oak Mortgage has leased 1,156 ft2 of new office space at 9949 Windmill Road, according to Jeff Barnes of Stirling, who handled the transaction. In Foley, developers are seeking site plan approval to build Fuzzy’s Taco on 1.05 acres on Highway 59 just south of Keller Road beside the Old Time Pottery store, according to city planners.
