Single-Family Residential Development Planned For Summerdale

Arthur Hood of HV Properties, along with its local subsidiary AR Land Development, has announced plans for a 620-unit, single-family residential development in Summerdale, tentatively referred to as Tealwood. Hood and his associates recently secured four contiguous land parcels totaling 202 acres at a combined purchase price of $2.55 million. The location of the proposed development is on Underwood Road between County Road 9 and Highway 59. The plan is for the units to include middle-income custom housing. AR Land Development will develop the project in phases starting in June, with the first phase developing 75 lots. Second and third phases will follow. The homes will generally be in the 2,000-ft2 range. Multiple amenities, such as a dog park, tennis courts and multiuse clubhouses, are being considered. HV Properties is also working on the Silver Lake Subdivision in Silverhill.
