Updated Plans For River Walk Plaza Released

Burton Property Group has released updated plans for River Walk Plaza, a proposed 33-story waterfront high-rise next to the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center, Mobile Today is among outlets to report. The latest design calls for a building reaching 418 ft, with luxury condominiums, a hotel, office space, restaurants, retail and entertainment facilities. According to the developer’s newly released brochure, the project would include 88 condominiums, a 161-room hotel and approximately 50,000 ft2 of office space across three floors. Plans also include rooftop dining, swimming pools, a full-service spa, restaurants and parking facilities. The development represents a substantial expansion of the original concept announced in December 2023. The proposed hotel would include a 6,800-ft2 ballroom, five meeting and conference rooms, restaurants and outdoor gathering areas overlooking the Mobile River. Brett Robinson has been selected as the exclusive condominium sales and marketing representative. On October 20, the Mobile City Council approved extending the developer’s inspection period under its purchase agreement for city-owned waterfront property until October 26, 2027. The agreement involves approximately 1.8 acres of waterfront property and a proposed purchase price of $3.3 million. The extension gives developer One Water LLC additional time to evaluate the property and address development requirements before completing the purchase. Groundbreaking was originally hoped for in 2025, but a date is yet to be set.
