Andy’s Music Named Top 100 Musical Instrument Retailer For 11th Time

Andy’s Music in Mobile has once again been named one of the Top 100 musical instrument retailers in the U.S. by the National Association of Music Merchants. Andy’s has received this national award 11 times since 2011. This annual award honors music retailers that demonstrate exceptional commitment to their stores, neighborhoods and customers and share in a vision of creating a more musical world through their local communities. Dubbed the “Retail Oscars” by Music Inc., the Top 100 Dealer Awards spotlight the industry’s best music product retailers and their strategies for success. Businesses are evaluated for their innovative approaches to retail and for employing effective strategies in marketing and customer engagement. An independent panel of judges carefully reviews entries to determine winners in various categories. Andy’s Music is a family business with a history of merchants dating back four generations. James Andrews is the current vice president at Andy’s Music Inc. His great-grandfather, Christos Andreoglou, emigrated from Smyrna, Greece, in 1910 and had a general store and tavern on Bloodgood Street in Mobile. His grandfather, Jimmy C., ran Andy’s Grill on Broad Street, and his father, Jimmy, founded Andy’s Music in 1977.
