Greer’s Ace Hardware Planned For Downtown Mobile

A new Greer’s Ace Hardware store is planned for Downtown Mobile at 251 St. Louis Street, according to recent city building permit applications reported on by Downtown Mobile Today. The project covers more than 8,100 ft2 and includes both interior remodeling and an addition for the hardware retailer. The site also includes space permitted for a liquor store. The property will be divided into two units, with Unit A designated for a liquor store and Unit B for the Ace Hardware. Greer’s currently operates four Ace Hardware Express locations inside existing grocery stores. The St. Louis Street project would mark its first standalone hardware store. Site work is expected to begin later this year pending permit approval.
