Serda Sold, Holding Closing Party

Mobile’s Serda Brewing has announced that it has sold to an out-of-state brewer and will hold a closing party today at 4-11 p.m. The new owner will be revealed on May 31. The closing party will include live music by Greg Afek starting at 7 p.m., and food from the Greek Gals food truck will be available. The brewery will continue to operate as usual until June 1. The company will continue to distribute its beer to restaurants and stores in Mobile and Baldwin counties, and most staff members are to stay on with the new owner. However, Simon Sothras, head brewer, will leave to pursue a new venture. According to AL.com, Serda was opened in December 2017 by partners including John Serda, a downtown businessman known for his Serda’s Coffee Co. on Royal Street.
