Orange Beach’s Hugh S. Branyon Backcountry Trail—spanning nine distinct ecosystems through Gulf Shores, Gulf State Park and Orange Beach—has been nominated for the third consecutive year for USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards in the “Best Recreational Trail” category. The trail has won this category for the past two years. As part of this nationwide competition, the 28-plus-mile trail is up against a lengthy list of competitors from across the country. Voting is open and closes on April 7 at 11:00 a.m.; the winner will be announced on April 16. People can vote online once daily per device.
