Cruises from Mobile Could Restart in July

Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson announced on April 29 that the city received some good news with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’ (CDC) notification to the cruise industry that cruises out of U.S. ports could resume by mid-July if certain safety parameters are met. Stimpson said he “was very excited to see the CDC offering a clearer path forward for the cruise industry, which has been sidelined since the COVID-19 pandemic began more than a year ago. The City of Mobile stands ready for the return of [Carnival Cruise Line],” likely in the form of the Carnival Sensation (BBN #35). Stimpson added that all full-time, part-time and contracted employees who interact with passengers on cruise days have already been COVID-19 vaccinated”
