New Bathroom Facility Approved For Beulah Heights Park In Foley

The Foley City Council recently voted to approve construction of a new bathroom facility at Beulah Heights Park on East Jefferson Street in Foley. The report presented to the council said the current restrooms are old, outdated, in poor condition and needing to be replaced. The new facilities will also bring the restroom into compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act. The restroom replacement is part of a series of projects being done to improve parks around Foley. The total budget for the project is $175,000. The new restroom will be a prefabricated building costing $141,941.68. The rest of the budget will cover demolition of the existing facilities and installing the new building by Foley Public Works Department crews. The new facilities will include galvanized steel doors and frames, china plumbing fixtures, a water heater, two soap dispensers, two hand dryers, baby changing stations, exhaust fans, floor drains and stainless-steel mirrors. The bathrooms will also include a drinking fountain with bottle filler, motion-controlled interior lights and photocell-controlled exterior lights.
