Saraland Receives Regional Award For The Land Complex
The City of Saraland has received the Norman H. Walton Sr. Regional Award by the South Alabama Regional Planning Commission in recognition of The Land Sports & Recreation Complex. This award honors projects across Mobile, Baldwin and Escambia counties that demonstrate excellence in problem solving, innovation, intergovernmental cooperation, quality of life and effective use of resources. The Land Sports & Recreation Complex represents a $72 million investment and is one of the largest public recreation projects in the region. The 100-acre multiuse facility features a wide range of indoor and outdoor amenities designed to support youth athletics, community programming and regional tournaments, while serving as a destination for residents and visitors alike. The complex expands recreation opportunities, promotes community wellness and generates economic impact through sports tourism, attracting teams and families from across the region.
