Semmes Senior Center Walking & Fitness Trail Expansion Now Open

A ribbon cutting was held on November 5 for the Semmes Senior Center Walking & Fitness Trail (9635 Moffett Road in Semmes) expansion, which extends the walking trail and adds a new large fitness equipment station, shuffleboard and pickleball courts. The Semmes Senior Center Walking & Fitness Trail is open to the public with no age restrictions. The Semmes Senior Center is a high-usage, active regional day-use facility for seniors that maintains a full schedule of more than 30 offerings each week and averages 1,000 member visits each month. The senior center is a Mobile County Commission project operated by the City of Semmes. The Semmes Senior Center and Semmes Senior Center Walking & Fitness Trail have been funded by Mobile County’s federal grants, Mobile County Commission District 2, general funds, sponsorships and donations.
