Spanish Fort Moves Forward With Next Integrity Park Phase 2

The city of Spanish Fort is moving forward with Phase 2 of its Integrity Park master plan, and the bid for $5 million was awarded to Atmore-based Triptek, FOX 10 reported. Integrity Park opened in 2018 to meet the growing need for youth football and soccer. The original plan for Phase 2 was to add softball and baseball fields and a press box, but the needs have changed. With more demand for youth soccer, the new plans are for two new soccer fields, two outdoor basketball courts and more parking. The fields there now accommodate youth football and soccer. Two of the three are lit, and the city will add lighting to the third field with this contract. Work at Integrity Park is expected to begin soon and is to take a year to complete. Spanish Fort will pay for the improvements using part of a $15-million loan, which will also cover the cost of several other major construction projects.
