United States Sports Academy (USSA) To Host 50th Anniversary Event

DAPHNE, Ala. — USSA‘s 50th Anniversary Founder’s Day event will be held on April 21-22 at the USSA campus in Daphne. On April 21, there will be an open house from 1-5 p.m. with tours of the museum and campus, and games and other fun activities for graduates, their families and the community. On April 22, USSA will host a “50 Years of Sport and Education” symposium beginning at 9:30 a.m., with an art unveiling at 11 a.m. and a graduation ceremony at 3 p.m. The featured guest for the latter day’s events is Dr. Richard McLaren, the sport corruption fighter who, in 2015-2016, helped expose Russia’s government-sanctioned doping in the Olympics. McLaren will take part in the symposium and receive an honorary doctorate from USSA at the graduation program.
