USA Health To Provide Sports Medicine For MCPSS
MOBILE COUNTY, Ala. — USA Health and the Mobile County Public School System (MCPSS) have entered into a comprehensive agreement for USA Health to be the official provider of sports medicine services for public high schools in Mobile County. USA Health will provide athletic trainers up to 40 hours per week at 11 MCPSS high schools, including at all teams’ practices and games. The 11 high schools receiving athletic trainers are Baker, Blount, Bryant, Citronelle, Davidson, LeFlore, Murphy, B.C. Rain, Theodore, Vigor and Williamson. Mary G. Montgomery High School has its own trainer on staff as part of the school’s Signature Academy of Sports Medicine, but under this agreement, it, too, will receive services from USA Health physicians. In addition, the physicians will provide coverage at all 12 high schools’ home football games and at other sporting events to assist with the immediate care of student athletes. USA Health will also provide and sponsor educational events and training for students and coaches on the prevention, care and management of sports injuries, including concussion protocols.
