Work Begins On New Foley Kids Park

A new Kids Park is expected to open in Foley by summer to replace the playground that opened in 2001. The original park at Max Griffith Park closed February 27 to allow work to begin. The original wooden facility was intended to last approximately 15 years. Work on the new park will start this month, and the facility is scheduled to be completed in approximately 12 weeks. Residents can follow the progress of work via a live camera at the site. The new park is expected to cost approximately $1.2 million. The city will receive approximately $500,000 in grants to pay part of the cost.
