Marian Faulk

Marian R. Faulk, APR, Director of Marketing at Springhill Medical Center, was appointed for her second two-year term. She is one of two Southern Public Relations Federation representatives to the UAB and serves on the UAB’s Eligibility & Appeals/Policies & Procedures Workgroup.

Faulk is a past chair of the Universal Accreditation Board. Her previous UAB-overseen activities include service on the Communications and Examination & Preparation Workgroups, as well as serving ex officio on the APR+M, Certificate in Principles of Public Relations, Communications, Eligibility & Appeals/Policies & Procedures, and Examination Preparation Workgroups. She has also served as a candidate mentor, readiness review panelist, study course presenter, item writer, and Public Relations Council of Alabama-Mobile Chapter Accreditation chair.

She is a member of Public Relations Society of America, the Public Relations Council of Alabama – Mobile Chapter (past president), and Southern Public Relations Federation (past president) for which she is a current board member and a member of the organization’s Hall of Fame.

The UAB oversees Accreditation in Public Relations (APR), APR+M for military personnel or contractors, and the Certificate in Principles of Public Relations on behalf of a consortium of nine public relations organizations: Asociación de Relacionistas de Puerto Rico, California Association of Public Information Officials, Florida Public Relations Association, Maine Public Relations Council, National Association of Government Communicators, National School Public Relations Association, Public Relations Society of America, Religion Communicators Council and Southern Public Relations Federation. It is administered by the Public Relations Society of America.
