Ballyhoo Festival Coming To Gulf State Park

The Ballyhoo Festival will be held at Gulf State Park on March 1-2, Mullet Wrapper reports. Celebrating fine art and culture, it will have 115 arts and crafts vendors from across the U.S. on display. Focusing on the culture of different people and locations in the U.S., the event will feature the Poarch Band of Creek Indians with a historical narrative and original tribal dance in ceremonial regalia on March 1. March 2 will focus on early Americana Appalachian music in the form of a fiddle and banjo competition. Competitors will come from across the Southeast to participate. Food of different cultures will also be a major attraction. This year will feature Cajun, Asian and Indian food, along with local seafood. The Ballyhoo Stage features bands of different genres, and the Coastal Alabama Chamber will be selling soft drinks, water and adult beverages on the west and east ends of the festival. Parking, $10, will be at the Gulf Shores Pavilion and Gulf Shores Pier. Additional parking will be at Gulf Shores High School, where there will be no fee. Free shuttle service will be available at all parking sites.
