CBM Summer Intensive Features MacKinnons

Classical Ballet of Mobile (CBM) has announced that Artistic Advisor Olivia MacKinnon and guest faculty member Mary Thomas MacKinnon, her sister, are partnering for daily technique classes, pointe work and choreography sessions inspired by George Balanchine and Jerome Robbins the week of June 9-14, concluding with an optional in-studio showing for loved ones. Pre-registration is open for ages 10 and up who have trained on pointe, and ages 7-9 have class offerings on June 9, 11 and 13 (not inclusive of the end-of-week showing). The MacKinnons are Mobile natives and lifelong ballerinas who have contracts with New York City Ballet (NYCB). Olivia MacKinnon became an apprentice with NYCB in November 2012 and joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet in October 2013. She was promoted to soloist in April 2023 and is also a faculty member with the School of American Ballet. Mary Thomas MacKinnon became an apprentice with NYCB in August 2017 and joined the company as a member of the corps de ballet in August 2018. Other CBM summer intensives are scheduled on July 28-August 1 for ages 8-10 at 9 a.m.-12 p.m. and for ages 11 and up at 12:30-4:30 p.m. There are also open class offerings held weekly from June 3-August 7, and ballet and etiquette camp opportunities for ages 3-7 on July 7-11.
