Chinese Lantern Festival Coming To Bellinrath

Bellingrath Gardens & Home in Theodore will host the Gulf Coast Chinese Lantern Festival, the inaugural iteration of what it hopes will become a new tradition for Mobile-area and Gulf Coast residents. Partnering with Tianyu Arts and Culture, a Chicago-based supplier for such festivals, Bellingraph will feature larger-than-life wireframe structures covered in brightly painted fabrics. These structures will be lit from within and glowing at night. A dragon on display will be 200 ft long and approximately 12 ft tall. Tickets are on sale now for the event, taking place Thursdays through Sundays between April 17 and June 15. A special preview party has been set for April 12 that, in addition to the lights, will feature a signature cocktail and heavy hors d’oeuvres. Guests will also have the opportunity to experience a guided tour of the Bellingrath Home.
