MSO Announces “Musical Romance”

The Mobile Symphony Orchestra (MSO) will host “Musical Romance” on March 11 at 7:30 p.m. and March 12 at 2:30 p.m. at Saenger Theatre Mobile. The program celebrates two of classical music’s most romantic masterworks, Pyotr Tchaikovsky’s Romeo & Juliet and Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 with pianist Joyce Yang, known for powerful and passionate interpretations of Rachmaninoff’s challenging concertos. The concert also includes Afro-American Symphony by African American composer William Grant Still. Three-concert season memberships are $51-$204, and tickets to individual concerts are $20-$89. Student tickets are $10. Tickets may be purchased online, by phone at 251-432-2010 or at the MSO box office at 257 Dauphin Street. Through MSO’s Big Red Ticket program, sponsored by the Alabama Power Foundation, students in grades K-12 can attend any of the season’s regular classical Sunday performances for free when accompanied by a paying adult.
