Commonwealth Teams With Trustmark

Mississippi-based Trustmark National Bank has entered a strategic collaboration agreement with Mobile’s Commonwealth National Bank, the banks recently announced. Trustmark is to provide Commonwealth up to $2.5 million for commercial loans, mentorship and access to its ATM network, mortgage origination department and other services. The agreement is part of the Roundtable for Economic Access and Change—aka the Project REACh Initiative—designed to help minority depository institutions “remain a vibrant part of the economic landscape and important resources in their communities.” Commonwealth President and CEO Sidney King said, “During my first bank presidency opportunity in the 1990s, Trustmark’s mentorship was instrumental in the success of our banking operation. I am extremely excited about renewing this relationship with Trustmark….”
