BBQ & Blues Coming Up

FOLEY, Ala. — The BBQ & Blues Cook-off is taking place on March 12 at Heritage Park in Foley. All proceeds go to the South Baldwin Chamber Foundation. An Alabama Barbecue Association Trail and Kansas City Barbeque Society sanctioned event, the barbecue cook-off attracts both corporate and individual teams competing for bragging rights in several award categories. In addition to food, there will be popular blues bands playing and children’s activities. New this year is a kick-off event on March 11 at 5-9 p.m. featuring a drawdown and live entertainment by Logan Spicer, Mike Diamond, Josh Newcom and Tim Roberts. Tickets for the kick-off event are $10, include entry to the drawdown and must be purchased in advance. Food trucks and beverage sales for this night will be open, but no children’s activities will be available.
