Foley Main Street Accredited, Releases Statistics

FOLEY, Ala. — Nonprofit Foley Main Street, Inc. has been designated as an Accredited Main Street America program for meeting rigorous performance standards. Each year, Main Street America and its partners announce the list of accredited programs to recognize their commitment to preservation-based economic development and community revitalization. Foley Main Street, Inc.’s performance is annually evaluated by Main Street Alabama, which works in partnership with Main Street America to identify the local programs that meet rigorous national performance standards.

Since its inception in June 2018, Foley Main Street has recorded 38 net new businesses, more than $7.3 million invested and 2,896 volunteer hours. The organization promoted Downtown Foley with money and time spent through both traditional and social media advertising in 2021, a year to not only recover from COVID-19, but also from damage caused by Hurricane Sally. Additionally, 55 meetings revolving around economic growth were held in 2021. Foley Main Street reports a strong first half of 2022, with more than 48 businesses wanting to either move, expand or open businesses in Downtown Foley. The organization also recently released the full results of its 2022 Envision Downtown Foley survey, which will eventually be turned into a plan. A snapshot of the results is here.
