Delta Woods & Waters Expo Announced

The Family Day of the 13th Annual Delta Woods & Waters Expo is taking place on April 29 at 9 a.m.-4 p.m. at the 5 Rivers Delta Resource Center in Spanish Fort. The center, the City of Spanish Fort and the Delta Woods & Waters Expo Committee are organizing the event, which educates youth on the value of the environment and wonders of the Mobile-Tensaw Delta. More than 600 fourth-grade students, teachers and parent-chaperones from Spanish Fort and area grade schools take field trips to the expo each year to learn about indigenous plants and animals of the estuary, responsible camping techniques, boating safety and the history of the delta. Expo attendees discover the delta through live demonstrations and hands-on experiences. To find out how your organization can get involved with the expo, contact the City of Spanish Fort at phone: 251-626-4884.
