Graveline Bay Restoration Funded

The Connection announced the successful funding of “Project The Town” from the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation Gulf Environmental Benefit Fund to conduct engineering and design for the restoration of approximately 25 acres of back-barrier intertidal marsh habitat in Graveline Bay. This phase is expected to take a year and includes public outreach, full engineering and design specifications and drawings, and permitting. The project builds on previous restoration work completed by the Town of Dauphin Island. It is part of Phase I of the Restoration of the North Side of Dauphin Island, which has had its total award amount amended to $904,000.
