USA Health Renovation Underway

Work has begun since the approval of a $15.2-million project to add 65 beds to University Hospital’s 10th and 11th floors in Mobile, USA Health announced. Workers are erecting scaffolding for a large exterior freight elevator that will soon ferry construction materials and personnel to and from the top floors. When complete, the floors will house modern medical/surgical and critical care patient suites, two isolation rooms, four Americans with Disabilities Act-compliant patient rooms, associated nursing stations and common areas. USA Health received permission for the renovation from the Alabama Certificate of Need Review Board in August (USA Health Approved For Renovation). Construction is still on schedule to be completed by the end of 2021.
