Saraland, Baldwin County Rank Highly Statewide

Niche has released its 2024 list of the best school districts in Alabama, with the Saraland City School District at No. 6 and the Baldwin County School District at No. 24 out of the state’s 138 districts. The ranking is based on reviews from students and parents, along with data from the U.S. Department of Education. Ranking factors include state test scores, college readiness, graduation rates, teacher quality and public school district ratings. Saraland earned an "Overall Niche Grade" of A+, with 53% of its 3,261 students at least proficient in mathematics and 71% in reading. Baldwin County’s grade was A-, with 33% of its 31,812 students at least proficient in mathematics and 57% in reading. Student-teacher ratios were just above the national average of 17:1, with Saraland’s at 20:1 and Baldwin County’s at 18:1.
