St. Michael Named To AP Program Honor Roll

College Board has announced that St. Michael Catholic High School of Fairhope has been named to its 2024 Advanced Placement (AP) program School Honor Roll, earning a “Gold” distinction. The AP program enables students to pursue college-level studies with the opportunity to earn college credit, advanced placement or both while still in high school. Through AP courses in 38 subjects, each culminating in a challenging exam, students learn to think critically, construct solid arguments and see many sides of an issue. The AP School Honor Roll recognizes schools with AP programs that deliver results for students while broadening access. Schools can earn this recognition annually based on criteria that reflect a commitment to increasing college-going culture, providing opportunities for students to earn college credit and maximizing college readiness. For St. Michael, 51.76% of 2024 seniors took at least one AP exam during high school, and 36.471% took five or more. Sixty-six percent of these students scored a three or higher on at least one AP Exam, making them eligible for college credit. St. Michael has 10 faculty members who teach 19 sections of 12 available AP courses.
