Son Of A Sailor Fest Set For September 20

Visit Mobile has announced the Son of a Sailor Fest for September 20 in Downtown Mobile. The free family-friendly street festival features a second-line parade through downtown, Parrot Head costume contests and musical acts inspired by Jimmy Buffett and local culture. The Coral Reefers, including Keith Sykes, Roger Bartlett, Jim Mayer and Will Kimbrough, will perform. Singer-songwriter Bob Barrick will also bring musicians from Colorado to play from Buffett’s vast catalog of music. Additionally, there will be a shaded VIP lounge including catered food and drinks, dedicated bathrooms, comfortable seating, front-row access, swag bags, a VIP gift basket raffle and a welcome reception including a preview of the highly anticipated Jimmy Buffett Experience slated to open in September 2026. A portion of sales from VIP tickets, which start at $188.58 for adults, will support the marine research and education initiatives of the Dauphin Island Sea Lab Foundation.
