Songwriters’ Showcase, Open Mic Coming To OWA

The Heart Behind the Music Songwriters’ Showcase is coming to the OWA Theater in Foley on January 19. Original compositions OWA says “have become the soundtrack to the songwriter’s life” will be performed live. Featured songwriters are Mitch Rossell, John Ford Coley and Lenny LeBlanc. Rossell has thousands of monthly listeners across streaming services and joined Garth Brooks on his 2022 stadium tour. He has also written four of Brooks’ singles. Coley is an American singer, guitarist, classically trained pianist, actor and author most renowned as half of a Grammy-nominated duo with England Dan. LeBlanc is a songwriter and singer whose 1977 ballad with Pete Carr, “Falling,” became a hit. He was also an integral part of the phenomenon that became known as Muscle Shoals Music. Tickets to this event start at $34.99. There will also be an open mic night on January 20. Participation and attendance to that event are free.
