ASPCA Grants Baldwin County $25,000 For Temporary Shelter

Baldwin County recently received a $25,000 grant from the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA). With the Disaster Response and Capacity Building Grant, the Baldwin County Commission will buy an enclosed trailer and cleaning and safety supplies to be able to set up a temporary animal shelter in preparation for future natural disasters. Founded in 1866, the ASPCA was the first animal welfare organization to be established in North America. The nonprofit has more than 2 million supporters nationwide who work toward preventing cruelty to dogs, cats, equines and farm animals throughout the U.S.
