Baldwin County Library Cooperative (BCLC) Moves

BALDWIN COUNTY, Ala. — BCLC has moved from its previous facility at the Central Annex in Robertsdale to a new location in Loxley, Gulf Coast Media reports. Its new 2,000- ft2 facility at 3147 First Avenue has expansive grounds, which BCLC Director Elizabeth Webb plans to use for outdoor space for yoga classes from a nearby business and the Loxley Public Library’s programs. There are also plans to have a playground area and to stage tours of nearby historic landmarks. Webb added that plans are to eventually build a larger facility east of the Baldwin Beach Express near Interstate 10, which she calls “an underserved area of the county.” In addition to acting as a hub for Baldwin County’s 13 municipal libraries, the nonprofit membership network offers books; DVDs; CDs; computers; and, for a small fee, WiFi printing from mobile devices, copies, scans and fax services.
