Construction Starts On Foley Library/Community Center

The City of Foley recently kicked off construction of its new library and community center at 230 East Orange Avenue. The building will be almost 40,000 ft², approximately twice the size of the current facility next to City Hall. It will have a meeting space, an auditorium, computer labs and study rooms. The first floor will include a children’s area, a multipurpose room, computers and an activity room. There will also be a separate area for teens. The second floor will include the adult section and computer labs. Additional facilities slated for the new library include a science, technology, engineering and mathematics laboratory and dedicated spaces for programs such as special-needs activities.
