Mobile County Details Coronavirus Fund Proposals Process

Mobile County Commissioners Merceria Ludgood, Connie Hudson and Randall Dueitt have announced they are seeking proposals from agencies, nonprofit organizations, private entities and local governments for project funding through Mobile County’s $80.14-million American Rescue Plan Act allocation. Proposed projects must be focused on or within Mobile County and demonstrate they are an allowable use under the act’s guidance. They will be reviewed by the county for fiscal impact, eligibility and alignment with county priorities. The allocation comes from the Coronavirus State and Local Fiscal Recovery Fund and will be used to continue the county’s response to the pandemic, while investing in initiatives for a strong economic recovery. The deadline for priority consideration of proposal submissions is October 25 at 5 p.m. Submissions may be made electronically or via printed copies, which are available by calling 251-574-4636. The county will hold a virtual training session to discuss the funding and application process on October 8 at 10:30 a.m. A link to join will be posted here, and questions may be asked at email.
