State Arts Grants Announced

BALDWIN, MOBILE COUNTY, Ala — Arts organizations in Baldwin and Mobile counties received grants from the state, AL.com was among outlets to report. Among the 200 grants let from the $3.6 million awarded were to the Alabama Contemporary Art Center ($14,200); Alabama Folklife Association ($65,000); Azalea City Center for the Arts ($13,700); Clotilda Descendants Association ($13,200); Dauphin Island Heritage and Arts Council ($8,400); Gulf Coast Ethnic & Heritage Jazz Festival Productions ($14,200); Gulf Coast Steinway Society ($4,300); Mobile Arts Council ($31,500); Mobile Ballet, Inc. ($26,100); Mobile Chamber Music ($7,500); Mobile International Festival ($17,300); Mobile Museum of Art ($84,500); Mobile Opera ($10,200); Mobile Symphony ($48,400); Satsuma County Schools ($2,700); and Delta Resource Educational Association Mobile ($6,100 for a collage dance) in Mobile County. In Baldwin County, the Eastern Shore Art Association ($12,200); Gulf Coast Steinway Society ($4,300); and Historic Blakeley State Park ($3,400); and Shining Talent, Education and Recreation ($6,600); were issued funds. They will go toward a range of projects, including salary support, arts programs and workshops.
