State Conference On Tourism Announced

The Alabama Governor’s Conference on Tourism is taking place on August 26-29 at the Grand Hotel Golf Resort & Spa in Point Clear. The agenda includes a trade show, a silent auction, panel discussions, the annual meeting of the Alabama Travel Council, and the Alabama Tourism Department’s annual update and advisory board meeting. Speakers include Casey Gay Williams, president of the Eastern Shore Chamber of Commerce; Sherry Sullivan, Fairhope mayor; Scott Tripoli, general manager and managing director of the Grand Hotel; and Liz Bittner, president and CEO of Travel South USA. The featured speaker is Costas Christ, an award-winning editor and columnist for National Geographic Traveler who is considered one of the world’s top sustainable tourism experts.
