USS Alabama Battleship Commission Elects Officers

The USS Alabama Battleship Commission recently announced that Bill Tunnell of Gulf Shores has been elected to serve as commission chairman for the upcoming term, expiring in 2022. Tunnell was named to the commission by Gov. Robert Bentley in 2016 and remained active with the USS Alabama Crewmen’s Association as its secretary. He also serves on the USS Alabama Battleship Foundation, Inc., the fundraising arm of the park. The newly elected officers include Vice Chairman W. Terrance Ankerson of Mobile; Commission Secretary Herbert J. Malone, Jr. of Gulf Shores; and Commission Treasurer Robert Jaques of Hartselle, Alabama.
