Hall Presented Lifetime Achievement Award

The Vernon Z. Crawford Bay Area Bar Association presented Mobile Bar Association (MBA) member and Mobile Municipal Court Judge Shelbonnie Hall with its Lifetime Achievement Award, MBA announced. Known for establishing the first African American law firm in Mobile in 1956, Crawford tackled school desegregation, discriminatory jury selection and minority vote dilution during the height of the Civil Rights Movement. Today, the eponymous bar association brings together the community’s lawyers of color. The award is given annually to a local attorney who has worked to advance equal rights under the law.
