Evonik Donates To USA

THEODORE, Ala. — Evonik Industries AG, which operates a chemical company in Theodore, has donated $40,000 toward a skills trainer for students enrolled in the Process Technology program at the University of South Alabama (USA). A skills trainer, or “training skid,” is a realistic industrial process system that allows students to practice common scenarios they might encounter during work as a chemical process operator, the company explained. Students in the Process Technology program study to apply scientific principles to the operation and maintenance of complex chemical plants. USA’s Process Technology program began in January and includes classroom instruction and simulation training.
