Companies Announced For South Alabama Logistics Park (SALP)

THEODORE, Ala. — Mobile Mayor Sandy Stimpson recently announced that Gov. Kay Ivey visited SALP in Theodore to announce the first companies that will be located at the facility. New York-based medical product and automotive equipment manufacturer DC Safety is relocating its entire headquarters and operations to SALP, and Averitt Express, a Cookeville, Tennessee-based provider of freight transportation and supply chain management solutions, will be expanding its existing Mobile operations there. Combined, the operations represent an investment of more than $56 million. SALP, a Burton Property Group, endeavor, “is on track to be the largest master-planned logistics park in the Southeast, and with the continued expansion of the port and forthcoming Mobile International Airport, the opportunity for logistics growth is unparalleled,” Stimpson said, adding, “The entire Mobile region is becoming a significant distribution hub.”
