Vets Recover Offering MHFA Courses

Mobile-based nonprofit Vets Recover is offering mental health first aid (MHFA) courses on September 8, September 22 and October 21. These 8-hour courses aim to elevate the community’s response to the mental health crisis and educate Mobilians on providing an effective initial response to someone facing mental health challenges. “We know that mental health can impact any of us or our families, and knowing how to respond can be crucial,” Mayor Sandy Stimpson said. “Residents who complete one of the courses can also receive MHFA certification, which can be applied to continuing education requirements.” Vets Recover plans to add additional MHFA training opportunities throughout the year. It says the discounted rate of $30 per person is a $170 value. The fee covers the cost of refreshments and lunch.
